Mark H. Dold and Martin Rayner Return to Freud’s Last Session Off-Broadway

Original cast members Mark H. Dold and Martin Rayner will return as C.S. Lewis and Sigmund Freud, respectively, in Freud’s Last Session. Dold and Rayner return to the show on May 2 after appearing in the Chicago production of Mark St. Germain's drama. Directed by Tyler Marchant, the show runs at off-Broadway’s New World Stages.

Suggested by the book The Question of God by Dr. Armand M. Nicholi, Jr., Freud’s Last Session imagines a meeting between psychoanalyst Dr. Sigmund Freud and author C.S. Lewis in London. Together, Freud and Lewis discuss the existence of God, love, sex, and the meaning of life—only two weeks before Freud decides to take his own.

Dold has appeared on Broadway in Absurd Person Singular and off-Broadway in Shockheaded Peter, Comic Potential, Race, The Winter’s Tale, Othello, The Seagull, Romeo and Juliet, Spread Eagle and Timon of Athens. Rayner has appeared on Broadway in The Invention of Love and Sixteen Wounded. His off-Broadway credits include Travels With My Aunt, Gates of Gold, Henry V and Kit Marlowe.
